Too often, people take meaningful partnerships for granted. I don’t.
I am deeply grateful for Donna Gray-Banks (Fresh Book Festivals) and Gary Johnson (Gary Johnson Media) for helping to build a powerful and purposeful collaboration with A Dante Production. It is rare to find like-minded individuals who may operate in different spaces, yet share a common vision.
Let me start with Fresh Book Festivals.
Its mission is centered on reading—something that should be fundamental at every age. Yet in today’s political and educational climate, the emphasis on reading appears to be declining. As someone who values literature, I can personally attest to its impact. In fact, my company, Dante, was named after a book that influenced me early in life.
Donna’s vision is both forward-thinking and impactful. What began as a local initiative has grown into an international movement, with participation extending as far as London through social media. She has also played a critical role in Dante productions—serving as mistress of ceremonies and producing the annual BIG Dante Show.
Now, Gary Johnson.
My relationship with Gary goes back to the early days of his online magazine, BlackMenInAmerica.com. Since then, I’ve watched it grow into a multifaceted media platform with significant reach and influence.
Gary has always been committed to uplifting communities through education. One of our earliest collaborations involved converting a bus into a mobile computer lab—serving students during the day and seniors in the evening. We also worked together to expose young people to theater production through trips to Broadway, which helped inspire the initiative “Broadway Theaters Educate.”
Today, Gary Johnson Media continues to expand, building platforms that inform, inspire, and empower.
Now, A Dante Production.
Founded in the 1980s, Dante began as a musical entertainment company and has evolved into a cultural platform rooted in what we call Ed-U-Tain-Ment—where every production carries meaning, purpose, and impact.
Music is more than entertainment. It enhances memory, focus, and learning by activating multiple cognitive pathways. It connects us to our past, strengthens cultural identity, and provides a powerful outlet for emotional expression and healing.
At Dante, every production is planned well in advance with intentional themes, carefully selected venues, and a commitment to delivering experiences that inspire, uplift, and connect.
The collaboration between Gary Johnson Media, Fresh Book Festivals, and A Dante Production is more than a partnership—
It is an alignment of purpose.
And it truly feels like an interface made in heaven.
