Black Men In America.com was conceived in 1995 by Gary A. Johnson, who was flying from Las Vegas back home to DC the day of the Million Man March. Gary saw the Internet as “the great equalizer” allowing him to provide a forum and a voice to the voiceless when it came to issues of interest to black men. He had plenty of ideas and content and after 6 years officially launched the site in January 2001. We are 100% black owned and feature ordinary men and women, living extraordinary lives.
Today the site has maintained its focus on black men and expanded to a well-rounded social, current events and political website featuring content that people want to share and talk about. We have thought-provoking content that aims to educate, entertain and inspire our site visitors to become good citizens and role models in their community.
We believe in diverse views and opinions and post content to reflect that. We have visitors from over 92 countries from around the world.
Our goal is to share stories of interest to our readers and provide content by a wide variety of contributors from all walks of life, aggregated news sources on the topics of current events, politics, health & wellness, business, entertainment and more.
As you navigate the site please know that we are open to your feedback as we try and find a safe place to land.
