A powerful and emotionally resonant episode of the Seeking Truth and Justice podcast has been released, honoring the lives and legacies of two tireless advocates for justice: Marti Oakley, founder of TS Radio Network, and Dr. Waymon R. Hinson, Ph.D., a faith-driven champion for Black farmers.

Led by Lawrence Lucas, host of Seeking Truth and Justice, and Executive Producer Gary Johnson of Gary Johnson Media, LLC, the tribute episode brought together a distinguished panel of voices to reflect on the profound impact both individuals made across multiple advocacy spaces.

Marti Oakley was widely recognized as a pioneering voice in independent media. Through her platform, TS Radio Network, she addressed critical issues long before podcasting became mainstream, including adult guardianship abuse, hospice care ethics, whistleblower protections, kidney dialysis concerns, advocacy for Black farmers, and animal welfare. Her fearless approach to exposing systemic injustice positioned her as a trusted voice for the voiceless.

Dr. Waymon Hinson, who passed away following a brief battle with Rapidly Progressive Dementia, dedicated his life to advancing justice through faith-based action. Alongside his wife Charla, he worked closely with Black farmers, emphasizing that faith requires active engagement in correcting societal wrongs.

The tribute episode featured heartfelt reflections from a diverse group of guests, including Corey Lea, Marcel Reid, Pamela Mussel, Debbie Dahmer, Christopher “C.J.” Johnson, Andrew White, Coz Skaife, Marsha Joiner, and Jacopo DeMarinis. Together, they shared personal stories and insights that highlighted the enduring influence of Oakley and Hinson.

“This was more than a memorial—it was a reaffirmation of purpose,” said Gary Johnson. “Both Marti and Waymon lived lives rooted in truth, courage, and service. Their work challenges all of us to continue the fight.”
