What Makes Dante Tick? Quincy Jones

By Chauncey Dunham

As the Chief Visionary, I’ve seem this business evolve from a family hustle to a powerhouse production team, and I’m here to tell you A Dante Production is leveling up.

I didn’t fully realize that A Dante Production needed a major structural overhaul until we began planning the Quincy Jones project. I’ve often told people that A Dante Production is a family-owned business—and that it would always stay that way. But with Dante’s growth, we’re making important changes. This is no longer a one-person operation.

Big thanks to our operations partners and our new President of Enterprise Expansion, because things are evolving to support our expansion.  For the record, here’s the new team driving us forward:

  • Chauncey Dunham II is our new President of Enterprise Expansion.
  • Gary Johnson Media is overseeing all media plans and strategic direction.
  • Donna Gray-Banks of ILA’s Diamonds, LLC is handling productions.
  • D. Robinson of Ladero Design Works is managing automation and websites.

To me, this is shaping up to be a well-oiled machine. My role as a visionary sometimes makes them think I’m a little mentally deranged—but that comes with the territory! And being the executive producer is no small chore.

Taking on the Quincy Jones project was deeply emotional for me. I had no idea it would be so intense—but it absolutely needed to be done. I’m confident this project will capture the attention of some serious checkbooks and will be done again.
