Mathew Knowles is best known as Beyoncé’s father and former manager. After managing his daughter’s career since the days of Destiny’s Child, Knowles was released from his duties in 2011.  Over the past few years Knowles has been in the news with a focus on his personal life.  There have been numerous reports about Knowles and mistresses, paternity tests for children, a divorce, court appearances for child support and more.  If you want to read more about the salacious details of Mathew Knowles’ personal life you need to visit another website.  Our focus will be on Mathew Knowles – the man loves to give back to his community and the man who was successful before Destiny’s Child.

Knowles was a very successful executive at Xerox Corporation before he quit to manage his daughter and her friends and turned them into the top-selling group Destiny’s Child.  Our focus will be on Mathew Knowles, the man many music industry insiders believe is this generation’s Berry Gordy, Jr. Now that’s high praise.

In a press release today, Mathew Knowles was selected as a 2016 CERCL distinguished visiting lecturer.  Alongside the many trails he has blazed in the entertainment industry, there are just as many running throughout the halls of academia, where Knowles has deep roots as a scholar and instructor. As a 1974 graduate of Fisk University, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, he was later bestowed the honor of Doctor of Humane Letters from his Alma mater in 2008. Knowles has taught at Fisk University and the last eight years at Texas Southern as a visiting professor in the School of Communication in the Entertainment, Recording, Management (ERM) degree program, the only of its type in the US as well as Media Entertainment on a graduate school level. He also holds a MBA in Strategic Planning and Organizational Culture from Cornerstone Christian Bible College.
