What Makes Dante Tick??
Some years ago, the Publisher of Black Men In America.com, one of the premier online magazines for African Americans and the CEO of A Dante Production were very involved in Broadway, in New York. The purpose was to revive the culture for our school children because budget shortfalls in many public schools disproportionately cutting funds in programs involving arts and culture.
Fast forward, both the Publisher and the CEO moved to central Florida, and after surveying the cultural landscape discovered a void and an opportunity. but again the same void was present. The definition of Culture extinct. Collectively again the drawing board became full as to what is a resolution. The answer was let’s create something new in the local area. Both parties were music buffs, so the idea came up to develop a musical history lesson. Let’s go back to our roots. Let’s do the history of JAZZ. The question was HOW and WHERE??
After many discussions, venues were the center of discussion. We decided to add a feature that was not common to the geographical area. The idea mushroomed to do this in a classy musical way in the form of a red carpet dinner theater. The DREAM was born!
Red Carpet Dinner Theatre!
“The Sounds of Jazz,” will be a high-level overview of the history of jazz. The key segments and personnel are all assembled to include a Musical Director, Narrators, Musicians, a Sound Engineer, Decorator, and Dancers. We make it look easy, but this is no easy task as there are a lot of moving pieces and details such as logistics, selecting the best musicians, the best date, time and venue that does not conflict with other local and area events.
Dayton Beach is an active city. Our goal is to give the city a different cultural and entertainment option that we hope the public will embrace and accept our interpretation of this historic period of music, arts and culture.
