What Makes Dante Tick?

The CEO of A Dante Production (Chauncey Dunham) must do a lot of things, just being a visionary is not enough. As you will see below, the devil is in the details.

As an effective producer, I must be efficient in budget management, time management, personnel management product management, arranging, visionary and leadership, and without ever foregoing the politics involved in the process. Producing is an art in which reading and understanding people nearly always trumps any theoretical knowledge-whether musical or other. Not only did we have internal challenges we also had a new musician, his name was Milton, he was a Hurricane, all the airports closed, and all Hotels in Daytona Beach closed, and they cancelled people’s reservations. Many local people had to evacuate to other cities.

Our media company (Gary Johnson Media) designed a survey to have the 101 attendees provide feedback on a show that was very difficult to handle, the results are interesting so far.

Our Director and Segment Producer (Gary Johnson & Donna Gray-Banks) had more than enough to handle various segments of this show.

The primary intent of the show was to make people aware of ED-U-TAIN-MENT, that is the merger of EDUCATION with ENTERTAINMENT.

WHAT IS ED-U-TAIN-MENT?

Edutainment is a type of entertainment which provides information that is both educational and entertaining at the same time. This term is a portmanteau given by the words “education” and “entertainment.” It is a medium with the aim of educating using a playful component.

Did we accomplish our goal? Not totally!

Well, what now??

As a Visionary, I will do it again. However, many changes will be made. Based on survey comments, we will implement more narration and use music that fits the era.

The next show is scheduled for Spring 2025.
